For our first exhibition we present large scale wall pieces mainly or solely consisting of paintings. 

Our two female artists differ in age at least one generation  and they take a different approach on their painting practice. Their method, ideas, modus operandi and  outcome couldn’t be more divergent. Hilde starts from collecting and gathering source material that inspire her to set up  intricate paintings as Sandra is not afraid of the grand gesture and quirky materials starting from google maps to structure her large scale paintings. In our view these two artists present interesting but dissimilar views on abstraction. 

Each of them will present three to four large scale canvasses that wil be on show in the Louis Bar (plus annexes, called Louis I, II & III) of Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel in Brussels. 

Engarde will provide a small edition of this presentation and the two female artist will be invited to enter into a discussion. This conversation will of course entail views on female artisthood and the way these two artists envisage their practice.
